Micropore

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007349

A pore within a material having an internal width of less than 2 nanometers. This classification distinguishes the smallest pores from larger mesopores (2 to 50 nm) and macropores (greater than 50 nm). The IUPAC defines this size range for characterizing porous solids like zeolites and activated carbons, which have high surface areas.
