Microporous particle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013290
A particle containing pores with diameters of less than 2 nanometers. These pores create a very high internal surface area relative to the particle's volume, which is a defining characteristic for applications in catalysis and adsorption. The classification of pore sizes is standardized by IUPAC, which distinguishes micropores from mesopores (2 to 50 nm) and macropores (greater than 50 nm).
