A prefix in the International System of Units (SI) denoting a factor of 10⁻³, or one thousandth. It is commonly used to express smaller quantities of base units, such as length (millimeter), mass (milligram), or volume (milliliter). For instance, one millimeter is equal to 0.001 meters.
