Narcosis

A state of stupor, unconsciousness, or arrested activity produced by the action of a chemical substance, often a narcotic drug. It is characterized by central nervous system depression, reduced responsiveness to stimuli, and diminished metabolic rate. This condition can range from mild drowsiness to deep coma, depending on the dose and type of agent.
