Negligible risk

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007810

A level of risk that is so small it is considered acceptable or trivial, and therefore does not warrant further risk management actions. This concept is applied in toxicology and environmental health to define exposure levels to substances that are unlikely to cause adverse effects. A common benchmark for negligible risk is a lifetime cancer risk of one in a million.
