Benchmark response
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001185
A predetermined change in an adverse effect, relative to a control group, used to define a point of departure for risk assessment. This response level is chosen to be small but measurable, typically representing a 5% or 10% change from background. It is used to calculate the benchmark dose, which is the dose corresponding to this response.
