Photothermal spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008934
A class of spectroscopic techniques that detect the heat generated when a sample absorbs electromagnetic radiation. The absorbed energy is converted into thermal energy, leading to a localized temperature increase that can be measured through changes in refractive index, acoustic waves, or infrared emission. This method offers high sensitivity for detecting trace analytes.
