Privileged structure
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009481
A molecular scaffold or core structure that is capable of binding to multiple biological targets with high affinity. These structures often serve as starting points for the design of new drugs due to their inherent versatility and favorable pharmacological properties. Examples include benzodiazepines and dihydropyridines, which are found in many therapeutic agents.
