Product state distribution
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009508
The distribution of product molecules among their possible quantum states (electronic, vibrational, rotational, and translational) following a chemical reaction. This distribution provides detailed insight into the dynamics of the reaction, revealing how the energy released is partitioned among the different degrees of freedom of the products. Experimental determination often involves spectroscopic techniques like laser-induced fluorescence or chemiluminescence.
