Radioactive age
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009861
The time elapsed since the formation of a material, determined by measuring the relative abundances of a radioactive parent nuclide and its stable daughter products. This dating method relies on the known, constant decay rates of specific radioisotopes. It is widely used in geology and archaeology.
