Radioactive steady state

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009867

A condition in a system where the rate of production of a radionuclide equals its rate of decay, resulting in a constant activity level. This state is often observed in environmental systems where radionuclides are continuously introduced and simultaneously undergo radioactive decay. It implies a balance between input and removal processes.
