Radioactive contamination

The undesirable presence of radioactive substances on surfaces, within materials, or in the environment, where their presence is unintended or exceeds permissible levels. This can occur through spills, leaks, or airborne dispersal of radioactive materials. Contamination levels are measured in units such as becquerels per unit area or volume.
