Reasonable maximum exposure

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010000

A conservative estimate of the greatest exposure to a contaminant that a person or population could plausibly experience, built from a mix of typical and high-end values for the exposure factors. Risk assessors use it to judge possible health effects of environmental pollutants. It marks an upper bound that is still realistic, set well above average exposure yet below the worst conceivable case.
