Sample handling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013519
The sequence of operations to which a sample is subjected between the sampling process and the final measurement step of an analytical procedure. These operations include transportation, storage, and any physical or chemical pretreatments like dissolution, extraction, or derivatization required to prepare the sample for analysis. Proper handling protocols are necessary to prevent contamination, degradation, or loss of the analyte before the measurement is performed.
