Sample injector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010497
A device used to introduce a discrete, defined volume of a sample into the flowing mobile phase of a chromatographic system or a carrier stream in flow analysis. It is designed to transfer the sample from atmospheric pressure into the pressurized system rapidly and reproducibly, with minimal disturbance to the flow. Common designs include loop injectors, where a fixed volume loop is filled and then switched into the flow path, and syringe-based autosamplers for automated sequences.
