Sample quality control
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013520
A set of procedures implemented to monitor and maintain the integrity and suitability of a biological sample throughout its lifecycle, from collection to analysis and storage. It involves assessing factors like sample purity, concentration, degradation, and the presence of interfering substances that could affect the analytical results. For nucleic acids, quality is often assessed by spectrophotometry to determine the A260/A280 ratio or by gel electrophoresis to check for degradation.
