Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011101
A death rate calculated for a subgroup of a population defined by a shared attribute such as age, sex, or cause of death, taking deaths in that subgroup over a stated period divided by the number of people in the same subgroup. Age-specific and cause-specific rates are the usual examples. Such rates are commonly expressed per 1,000 or per 100,000 persons per year.
