Stokes law

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011437

A physical law describing the drag force on a spherical particle moving through a viscous fluid at low Reynolds numbers. It states that the drag force is directly proportional to the particle's radius, its velocity, and the fluid's viscosity. This law is used to determine the settling velocity of aerosols and particles in suspensions.
