Stratified sample
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011459
A sample obtained by dividing the population into several subpopulations, or strata, and then taking a random sample from each stratum. This method is employed when the population is heterogeneous and can be naturally divided into homogeneous subgroups. The samples from each stratum are combined to form the overall stratified sample, reflecting the proportions of the strata in the population.
