Structural diversity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011491
The variety of physical forms, arrangements, or architectures within a biological community or ecosystem, such as the different layers of vegetation in a forest or the complexity of a coral reef. This diversity provides a range of microhabitats and resources, influencing species richness and ecological interactions. It is a key aspect of habitat heterogeneity.
