Simpson’s diversity index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010875
A quantitative measure of biodiversity that considers both the number of species present and their relative abundance within a community. A higher index value indicates greater diversity, reflecting a more even distribution of species. The index ranges from 0 to 1, where 1 represents infinite diversity.
