Term · Computing and IT · MLC-T-CMP-000087
A computing setup in which software runs directly on physical hardware with no virtualization layer between them. In a bare-metal server the customer gets a whole physical machine with its own operating system and no hypervisor, while in bare-metal programming, as on microcontrollers, the code runs without any operating system.
