A Non-Volatile Memory Express, a communication interface and protocol specification for accessing solid-state drives (SSDs) attached via the PCI Express (PCIe) bus. It is designed to take advantage of the low latency and internal parallelism of SSDs. NVMe drives offer significantly faster performance than SATA-based SSDs.
