Arago spot

A bright spot that appears at the center of the shadow of a circular opaque object when illuminated by a point source of light. This phenomenon is a direct consequence of the wave nature of light and demonstrates Fresnel diffraction. The Arago spot, also known as Poisson's spot, provides evidence for the wave theory of light.
