Biolith

A rock formed from the accumulation of organic remains, such as shells, corals, or plant fragments. These sedimentary rocks are composed primarily of materials that were once living organisms. Examples include coal, which forms from compressed plant matter, and limestone, which can be formed from the skeletons of marine organisms.
