Bolter

A plant that prematurely produces a flower stalk and seeds before forming a marketable crop, often due to environmental stress like heat or drought. This phenomenon, known as bolting, renders the crop unpalatable or unusable. Lettuce and spinach are common examples of crops prone to bolting.
