Brewer's yeast

A strain of yeast, primarily Saccharomyces cerevisiae or Saccharomyces pastorianus, used in the fermentation of beer and other alcoholic beverages. It converts sugars into ethanol and carbon dioxide, contributing significantly to the flavor and aroma profile of the final product. Different strains are selected for specific beer styles.
