Cog joint

A type of timber joint where a projecting tenon, or cog, on one piece of wood interlocks with a corresponding notch in another piece. This joint is designed to resist sliding and provide a secure connection between heavy timbers, often used in traditional timber framing. It is particularly effective in preventing lateral movement in structural assemblies.
