Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001410
To maintain an aircraft's ground track during a crosswind by pointing the nose slightly into the wind. This technique compensates for the lateral drift caused by the crosswind, keeping the aircraft aligned with the runway centerline during approach and landing. The amount of crab angle required depends on the crosswind component and the aircraft's airspeed.
