Double-pointed needle

A knitting needle that has tapered points at both ends, allowing stitches to be worked from either side. These needles are used for knitting in the round, particularly for small-diameter items such as socks, hats, or sleeves. A set typically includes four or five needles to distribute the stitches evenly.
