Dynamo

An electrical generator that produces direct current using a commutator to reverse the direction of current flow in the external circuit. It converts mechanical energy into electrical energy through electromagnetic induction. Early dynamos were the primary source of electricity for industrial applications before the widespread adoption of alternating current generators.
