eFuse

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001980

A programmable, non-volatile memory element integrated directly into a semiconductor chip, designed to permanently alter circuit behavior or store configuration data. It functions as a microscopic, electrically blown fuse that, once programmed, cannot be reset. This technology is used for device identification, security features, calibration data storage, and trimming analog circuits. eFuses are programmed by applying a precise current pulse to melt a conductive link, creating an open circuit.
