Firebreak

A natural or constructed barrier used to stop or slow the progress of a wildfire or prescribed burn. It consists of an area where fuel materials like trees, brush, and grass have been removed or modified. Firebreaks can be created by clearing vegetation, plowing land, or using natural features such as rivers or rock outcrops, with widths varying based on terrain and expected fire intensity.
