A weaving defect where a warp or weft yarn extends over several opposing yarns without interlacing, creating a loose loop on the fabric surface. This can occur due to incorrect loom settings or broken yarns, leading to a weaker and less uniform fabric. Floats are considered a quality defect and can affect the fabric's appearance and durability.
