Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002505
An electrochemical process where two dissimilar metals are in electrical contact in the presence of an electrolyte, leading to accelerated corrosion of the more active metal. This phenomenon is also known as galvanic corrosion. The rate of corrosion depends on the potential difference between the metals in the galvanic series.
