Glistening
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002590
Tiny fluid-filled microvacuoles that form within a lens, most often an intraocular lens of hydrophobic acrylic, and scatter light so that the lens appears to sparkle. They develop when water enters the material and collects in microscopic voids over months or years. Under a slit lamp they appear as small bright dots.
