Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002658
Crushed, pre-fired ceramic material, such as brick, pottery, or refractory clay, added to a clay body to reduce shrinkage and increase its strength and workability. The angular particles of grog create a more open structure within the clay, allowing moisture to escape evenly during drying and firing. It is measured by mesh size, indicating particle fineness.
