Hopback

A vessel used in brewing to infuse beer with hop aroma and flavor after the wort has been boiled and cooled. Hot wort is passed through a bed of whole leaf hops, extracting volatile oils without adding bitterness. This process is distinct from dry hopping, which occurs during fermentation or conditioning.
