Hushing

An ancient mining technique involving the controlled release of a large volume of water to erode overburden and expose mineral deposits. Water is typically impounded behind a dam and then suddenly released, creating a powerful torrent that washes away soil and loose rock. This method was historically used for tin and lead mining in areas with abundant water.
