Costeaning

An early-stage mineral exploration technique involving the digging of shallow pits or trenches across the presumed strike of a mineral vein or lode. The purpose is to expose the bedrock beneath the surface soil and weathered material to locate and trace the deposit. This method provides direct visual information on the width, orientation, and character of the mineralization at a low cost.
