Describing a force or load that acts over a very short duration, resulting in a rapid change in momentum. These forces are characterized by their high magnitude and brief application, such as those experienced during an impact or sudden acceleration. An example is the force exerted on a pile during hammer driving, which can be thousands of kilonewtons.
