Indicator

A visual or audible signal on a vehicle's dashboard or exterior that conveys information to the driver or other road users. This includes turn signals, warning lights for system malfunctions, and gauges displaying operational parameters. A common indicator is the check engine light, which illuminates when the engine control unit detects a fault.
