Interdome
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003047
A hollow gap separating the two shells of a double dome or cupola, one forming the ceiling seen from inside and the other forming the roof seen from outside. Because the shells are independent, they can differ in height and curvature. In Wren's St Paul's Cathedral in London, a brick cone rises through the gap to carry the stone lantern.
