Keratophyre

A fine-grained, extrusive igneous rock, specifically an altered trachyte or andesite characterized by a high content of sodium feldspar, primarily albite. This alteration results from metasomatic processes, such as spilitization, which occur in submarine volcanic environments. Keratophyres are associated with pillow lavas and greenstones in ophiolite sequences.
