Ultrapotassic

Describing an igneous rock with a high concentration of potassium, specifically where the molar ratio of potassium oxide (K2O) to sodium oxide (Na2O) is greater than two. These rocks are relatively rare and are found in specific tectonic settings, such as continental rift zones. Lamproite is a well-known example of an ultrapotassic volcanic rock that sometimes contains diamonds.
