Liftoff

The moment when an aircraft or rocket separates from the ground or launch pad and begins its ascent. For aircraft, this occurs when the lift generated by the wings exceeds the weight of the aircraft. For rockets, it signifies the point at which thrust overcomes the vehicle's weight, initiating its flight into space.
