Lowpass

Describing an electronic filter that allows signals with frequencies below a certain cutoff frequency to pass through, while attenuating signals with frequencies above it. This type of filter is used to remove high-frequency noise or to separate different frequency bands. A common application is in audio systems to direct low frequencies to a subwoofer.
