Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004030
A characteristic of a filter or control system that describes the steepness of its frequency response or the number of energy storage elements it contains. A higher order filter provides a sharper cutoff between passband and stopband frequencies. For example, a second-order filter typically uses two reactive components like capacitors or inductors.
