Roll off

A gradual decrease in the gain or output of an electronic circuit or filter as the frequency moves away from a specified passband. This characteristic is typically measured in decibels per octave or decibels per decade. The rate of roll-off indicates how sharply a filter attenuates unwanted frequencies.
