Christiansen filter
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001110
An optical filter that selectively transmits a narrow band of wavelengths while scattering others, based on the Christiansen effect. It consists of a transparent powder suspended in a liquid, where the refractive indices are matched for the desired passband wavelength. These filters are known for their high transmission and narrow bandwidth, often used in spectroscopy.
